Solo Piano Music of Gershwin & Chopin
Performed by Dr. Alicia Zizzo
Internationally renowned Gershwin scholar Dr. Alicia Zizzo performs a fascinating program of the solo piano music of Gershwin and Chopin. The program order counterpoints their works in support of her belief that Gershwin was America's Chopin. Repertoire includes her Warner Bros./Alfred Music Publishing editions and reconstructions of Gershwin's I Got Rhythm Variations, Seven Preludes and Lullaby for solo piano.
Dr. Alicia Zizzo’s pianistic artistry has brought her international acclaim on four continents, from London (Barbican Center), Amsterdam (Concertgebouw), Vienna (Musikverein), Budapest (Vigado with the Budapest Symphony), Warsaw (Ostrovsky Palace for the Chopin Society) to New York (Avery Fisher and Carnegie Halls) as well as many other venues throughout Europe and the United States. She is a Steinway Artist and records for the 4Tay and MSR Classics labels.
