Dear Friends,

It is with great regret that we announce that the 2009 Vakhtang Jordania International Conducting Competition must be postponed.

Unfortunately the performing site in Iceland which suited our needs has been under renovation and their renovation will not be finished in time for the competition. I now know that they have run out of money. This is not an unfamiliar problem anywhere in the world so we certainly can be sympathetic to their plight.

Very soon, we will be returning all of the entry fees to the competitors.

I certainly do appreciate the fact that this disrupts your schedules and on behalf of the Board of Directors, I wish to say thank you to each of you for your generous consideration and trouble and willingness in reserving the time to participate in the 2009 VJICC. Please keep an eye on our webpages at http://www.jamesarts.com for further information regarding future dates for the competition. We will also be in touch by email.

Again, I deeply apologize for the inconvenience this situation has caused, but I hope to be in touch with you all in the near future about the next Vakhtang Jordania International Conducting Competition.
