Beth Anderson in the Concert Hall Performances in Poland, Women's Work 2008, IAWM Conference in China and Other Places
The music of Beth Anderson is certainly getting around.
On November 20, 2007, her Cat Songs and Pennyroyal Swale string quartet were performed in the spectacular Oratorium Marianum in Wroclaw, Poland. This was part of the American Music Festival 2007, produced in cooperation with the city's Karol Lipinski University of Music. More about it at http://www.jamesarts.com/amf-poland.html.
April 18-22, 2008 Kentucky Swale for string orchestra will be performed at the 2008 Beijing International Congress of Women in Music to be held on the China Conservatory of Music Campus in Beijing. The International Alliance for Women in Music (IAWM) and the CCM are the producers. More information is available at http://www.iawm.org/congress2008.htm. Beth intends to be there.
On the domestic side, Beth is the curator and host of the Women's Work 2008 concert series. These concerts, presented by Greenwich House Arts, will take place on three Wednesdays - March 5, 12 and 19 8 PM each evening in the Renee Weiler Concert Hall at Greenwich House Music School, 46 Barrow Street in New York City.
The 2008 series, with ensembles chosen by Ms. Anderson, and works chosen by the presenting ensembles and performers, will explore recent jazz, chamber instrumental and vocal music by prominent contemporary women composers from Asia, the U.S. and Europe. March 9, 2008 at 3 pm - Wynken, Blyken, & Nod for SATB chorus will be performed by Acappellago, on the Louise Beem Women Composer Festival with the Salt Creek Sinfonietta, Dan D'Andrea, Music Director. March 29, 2008 at 7:30 pm & March 30, 2008 at 3 pm. - Wynken, Blyken, & Nod for SATB chorus will be performed again by Acappellago, Dennis R. April 12 at 8 PM and April 13, 2008 at 3 PM Jasmine Swale for violin, viola and cello will be performed in Santa Cruz, California, presented by the Santa Cruz Chamber Players. The performers are Kate Rubin, violin; Polly Malan, violist and Aria DiSalvio, cello and the concert is entitled Asian Travels.
