Dan Locklair Symphony of Seasons, Symphony No. 1 to be Webcast on WDAV Classical Public Radio

New York, NY - Dan Locklair's Symphony of Seasons - Symphony No. 1 will be webcast on WDAV Classical Public Radio from Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina on Sunday, March 26 at 3 PM. You can listen to this performance of the complete Symphony by the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra, conducted by David Hagy, by visiting WDAV online at http://www.wdav.org/.

The Louisville Courier-Journal said the complete symphony was, "brimming with lusty melodic invention", and that, "Locklair ... certainly knows how to translate extra-musical notions into specific, evocative soundscapes." American Record Guide said, "The symphony practically implores you to enjoy it ... "The Raleigh News & Observer wrote, "Locklair's piece is unapologetically programmatic and tonal, vividly depicting the year's changes as inspired by British poet James Thomson's epic poem "The Seasons." Classical Voice North Carolina added that the Symphony is, "realized with levels of skill and understanding we have come to expect ... "

Each of the four seasonal movements is now available as a separate, stand-alone piece. Orchestration for the Symphony is 2. picc. 2. ca. 2. 2. bcl. 2/4. 3 .3. 1/tp. 3perc .hp. pno./strings.
