3rd ANNUAL LATIN AMERICAN CULTURAL WEEK NOVEMBER 8 THROUGH 19 - NEW SUPPORT FROM THE CITY OF
NEW YORK ADDS TO THE EXCITEMENT
Latin American Cultural Week (LACW) in New York is a yearly city-wide event celebrating Latin American culture in venues throughout New York City. This year's events will take place between November 8 and 19 in all five boroughs of New York City. LACW is produced by PAMAR (Pan American Musical Art Research, Inc. http://www.pamar.org). Partnering with many of the City's most prestigious cultural institutions, their goal is to present the highest quality art and artists to the broadest cross-section of the community. This years' schedule includes events in visual arts, auctions, artist's talks and panel discussions, book presentations, dance, literature, multimedia, music and theater.
We are very excited to announce that LACW 2008 will be supported by the Latin Media and Entertainment Commission of the City of New York. We are very grateful for their support.
We also welcome PINTA (http://www.pintaart.com/) a major contemporary Latin-American art fair that will be taking place during LACW.
This year, LACW is planning to open the festivities on November 5 at 12 noon at the World Financial Center Winter Garden with a special event highlighting LACW's music and dance programs. This launch will be jointly presented by PAMAR and arts>World Financial Center, celebrating its 20th Birthday as the largest, free, year-round public arts program in the country.
LACW is supported, in part, by public funds from
The New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.
