The 2005-06 season has already seen the Ukrainian premiere of Dillon's Furies and Muses by the Maxima Ensemble at the National Philharmonic in Kiev.

Devotion - quickly becoming a favorite work around the world - will have performances in Wroclaw and Poznan, Poland in March.

Also in March, the Salt Lake City Symphony Orchestra will take Amadeus ex machina on an eight-day Austrian tour to celebrate Mozart's 250th birthday, with performances scheduled in Salzburg, Graz and Vienna.

LAWRENCE DILLON IN AMERICA

Lawrence Dillon's music is gaining a sizable following within the United States as well. Devotion for flute and strings was taken on tour in January - March 2005 by the NC School of the Arts Flute Ensemble, with visits to Blue Ridge Community College, Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, Wilmington's Kenan Chapel, Galax's Rex Theater, Winston-Salem's Shallowford Presbyterian Church, and the Clark Studio Theater in New York City's Lincoln Center. The work was also performed by Renee Siebert of the NY Philharmonic along with the American String Quartet in Joplin, Missouri on March 10th.

On February 25th, David Jolley premiered Revenant: Concerto for Horn and Orchestra along with the Carolina Chamber Symphony, led by the composer. The NCSA Wind Ensemble premiered Blown Away on May 13th, flutist Tadeu Coelho and pianist Allison Gagnon premiered Sonata: Motion on May 17th, and Coelho and Jolley collaborated with pianist Eric Larsen for the first performance of Embarkation on October 8th, all in Winston-Salem.

In May, Dillon teamed with his wife, flutist Rebecca Nussbaum, for the premiere of Processional at Tufts University in Boston
