Recognition for International Scope of Performances of Her Music California-based composer D'Arcy Reynolds has been given an ASCAPLUS award for the 2005-6 season. The award was made in recognition of the international scope of performances of her chamber, orchestral, and band music throughout the United States and South Africa last year. This included performances in Portland, Oregon, New York, Northern California, and several cities in South Africa. In addition, there was a documentary filmed about Reynolds' music that will be released this Fall in South Africa. ASCAPLUS is an awards program that provides cash and recognition to active writers in the early and mid stages of their careers, and to established writers whose main activity is outside of broadcast media.
