The American Chamber Ensemble Presents Music Old and New Concert on October 21 at Hofstra University
 

The American Chamber Ensemble's "Music Old and New" concert will take place on Sunday, October 21 - 3 p.m. when the Music Department of Hofstra University presents ACE at the University's Monroe Lecture Center Theater on California Avenue in Hempstead, New York.

Repertoire for this concert will be Edward Burlingame Hill's Sonata for clarinet and piano, opus 32, Mendelssohn's Sonata in D Major for cello and piano, opus 58, the World Premiere of Herbert A. Deutsch's All Night for soprano, violin, clarinet and piano, Dorothy Parker's Songs of Love by Chandler Carter, Marga Richter's Fandango Fantasy for clarinet, violin, cello and piano and Peter Schickele's Serenade for Three for clarinet, violin and piano

Performers for this concert will be the Directors of the American Chamber Ensemble, pianist Blanche Abram and clarinetist Naomi Drucker, who will be joined by pianist Marilyn Sherman Lehman, violinist Eriko Sato and cellist Chris Finckel. Special guest artist will be soprano Donna Balson.

Tickets for the October 21 concert are available at the Hofstra University Box Office for $15 ($10 senior citizens 65+ and non-Hofstra students). One free ticket with current Hofstra Card. For ticket information, call (516) 463-6644.

The American Chamber Ensemble explores the great chamber music literature for clarinet and piano in combination with strings, woodwinds and voice and presents performances featuring world-class artists. ACE consists of the finest freelance musicians in the New York area and has been cited by critics for their superb presentations of chamber masterworks.
