Palisades Virtuosi Presents Anniversaries - Season Opening Concert on October 6, Featuring World Premiere of New Work by Brian Schober
 

Ridgewood, NJ - The critically-acclaimed Palisades Virtuosi will present "Anniversaries", a concert of chamber music masterworks on Saturday, October 6 - 8:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Society of Ridgewood, 113 Cottage Place in Ridgewood, New Jersey.

This opening concert of the 2007-08 season will feature the World Premiere of another Virtuosi commissioned work – Brian Schober's Wind-space (9-11 Commemorative).

The Virtuosi will also present Lalo Shifrin's Central Park Variations for clarinet and piano (celebrating his 75th birthday), Joseph Schwantner's Black Anemones for flute and piano (in honor of his 65th birthday, Richard Faith's Fantasy Trio No. 1 (to honor his 80th birthday, Stravinsky's Piano-Rag-Music and Pastorale (Trio), both in honor of the composer's 125th birthday, Debussy's Children's Corner Suite for piano solo (in honor of the centenary of the work), Elgar's Chanson de Nuit for clarinet and piano and Percy Grainger's Molly on the Shore for flute & piano. The Palisades Virtuosi, consisting of flutist Margaret Swinchoski, clarinetist Donald Mokrynski and pianist Ron Levy, is a 501 (c)(3) organization that was established to promote and enrich the repertoire for flute, clarinet and piano and present concerts that include existing and newly-commissioned repertoire for this configuration, supplemented by solos, duos and larger works featuring guest artists.
