Meet the Orchestra
The Chamber Orchestra of New York was founded on March 27, 2006 in Manhattan on the 250th anniversary of the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It is the first professional orchestra in New York to be devoted to young professionals with performances in all five boroughs of New York City. The Orchestra's instrumentation was established in agreement with the stage dimensions of Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall. The Chamber Orchestra, established in honor of Ottorino Respighi, is dedicated to presenting the great orchestral repertoire alongside undiscovered or rarely performed gems which complement and extend the classical tradition, from early Italian legends to contemporary American masters. The Chamber Orchestra will provide a venue for artistic and cultural exchange and will foster the continuity of the classical tradition and the exchange of culture and the respect for antiquity. We invite you to learn more about the Chamber Orchestra by visiting us at www.chamberorchestraofnewyork.org.
